About Me

My Story

Hi there, I'm Elyse.  Welcome, I'm so glad you're here.  I am a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach living in Boulder, Colorado with my husband and two young girls.

After the birth of my first daughter I started to go through a rapid transformation - questioning everything around me and digging deep to uncover what was hidden below. "Who am I?" "What is my purpose?" "How can I feel my absolute best?" "What do I want?"

My journey thus far has included leaving my "reliable" career behind, stepping into motherhood, stumbling, finding support along the way & leaning into community, embracing my femininity (once I learned my masculine-dominant ways were getting in my way), navigating chronic symptoms, moving across the country from NY to Colorado, slowing down, having fun & loving more (both of which I had to learn how to do), and letting my light shine for all to see - with no apologies. (I know this sounds cheesy, and if you know me you know I am NOT about the cheese, but this really is my truth).  Peeling back the layers of "shoulds" I was slowly becoming *me* again and truly in the driver's seat of my life.

I would say my entry into the wellness world started with a desire to keep my pregnancy, delivery, and child-rearing as natural as possible.  Another entry point was through food. I was obsessed with cooking classes, farmer's markets, and trying all the best restaurants in NYC.  And one more hook for me was yoga.  Natural living, using food as medicine (because food is information that tells the body what to do next), and nourishing all parts of myself with yoga created the foundation of my lifestyle that's rooted in wellness and most importantly keeps me symptom-free.  My lifestyle IS my medicine.

I hold an Advanced Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education and was both a Teacher and Behavior Therapist in public and private schools in NYC with a focus on students with emotional/behavior disorders, autism, and learning disabilities.  My philosophy of education was based around the 3 C's - capable, connected, and contributing.  At the time, I used this therapeutic approach knowing that only when my students felt these three, could they thrive.  I've come to know that this is not just a philosophy of education but a philosophy for all human beings at all stages of life, and especially for moms. This philosophy is now the backbone to my coaching to help my clients thrive.

My attention to detail, capacity for empathy, and intention of improving others' lives through empowerment have been my strengths while working with children and are equally as present in my coaching. I am thorough, attentive, and do this work because I truly care. And because I feel capable, connected, and contributing to bettering my community when I do.

I love food, learning and exploring, mothering, deep connections, the Anthropologie sale rack, second-hand shopping for my kids, and organizing...in addition to all things wellness ~ mind, body, spirit.
